One-to-one online H1 / H2 Chemistry tutoring for Singapore JC students. H2 (9729) covers physical chemistry (kinetics, equilibrium, thermodynamics, electrochemistry), inorganic (Period 3, transition metals), and organic chemistry (mechanisms, synthesis). Three papers including Paper 4 practical. Singapore-based tutors — NIE-qualified, ex-MOE JC teachers, NUS / NTU Chemistry PhDs. Free trial, pay only if it's the right fit.
H2 Chemistry is the cornerstone prerequisite for Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, and Biomedical Sciences at NUS, NTU, and overseas (Imperial, UCL, Edinburgh, Cambridge for Natural Sciences). The two-year syllabus integrates conceptual depth (electron configuration, orbital theory, reaction mechanisms with curly-arrow notation) with rigorous quantitative analysis (Kc / Kp calculations, electrode potentials, kinetic order determination).
Our H2 Chemistry tutors are based in Singapore with NIE / ex-MOE / PhD credentials. They drill the high-application Paper 1 + Paper 2 free-response (where students lose the most marks), coach organic chemistry mechanism-drawing (consistently the weakest area for new H2 students), and prep the Paper 4 practical with the Evaluation framework.
Hand-picked tutors based in Singapore who actively teach Chemistry for the Singapore Junior College curriculum — NIE-qualified, ex-MOE, and proven track record of strong exam outcomes. Book a free trial to be matched.

H2 Chemistry covers: Atoms, Molecules & Stoichiometry; Atomic Structure; Chemical Bonding; States of Matter; Chemical Energetics & Thermodynamics; Reaction Kinetics; Chemical Equilibria; Acid-Base Equilibria; Electrochemistry; The Periodic Table (Period 3 + Group 2 + Group 17); Transition Elements; Organic Chemistry (Hydrocarbons, Halogen Derivatives, Hydroxy Compounds, Carbonyl Compounds, Carboxylic Acids & Derivatives, Nitrogen Compounds, Polymers). Four papers including Paper 4 (Practical, 2.5h).
Organic mechanism drawing — particularly nucleophilic substitution (SN1 vs SN2), electrophilic addition, electrophilic aromatic substitution. Many strong students know the product but draw incorrect curly arrows or miss intermediates. We drill mechanisms in every session until the technique is automatic.
Paper 4 is a 2.5-hour on-site practical exam. Students perform titrations, qualitative analysis, organic reactions, or kinetics experiments — depending on the year's paper — and answer Planning, Analysis, and Evaluation questions. Strong content students often underperform on Planning (designing an experiment from a problem statement) and Evaluation (critiquing the experimental method). We coach these explicitly.
NUS Medicine: 4 H2 distinctions typically (Math, Chem, Physics or Biology + one more) — A in H2 Chemistry is virtually mandatory. NUS Pharmacy: 3 H2 A's including A in Chemistry. NUS Dentistry: same profile. NTU Biological Sciences: H2 Chem + Biology preferred. Overseas Medicine (UK Russell Group): AAA equivalent with Chemistry at A.
JC1 students typically start in October-November after promos reveal weak topics — usually the physical chemistry calculations (Kc, equilibrium, electrode potentials) or atomic theory. JC2 students intensify in the lead-up to prelims (June-August) and the actual A-Levels (October-November). Most strong students do 1-2 sessions/week.
Live pricing is shown in the tutor cards above. H2 Chemistry rates in Singapore typically range from SGD 80-200/hr for online sessions depending on tutor experience. The free trial is genuinely free, no card required.
