Watch a tutor work through a question.

Say what you're studying, choose a tutor, then work through your homework step by step, take a quick quiz or call your tutor. This one is IGCSE Maths, and every subject works the same way.

The essentials

How IB Diploma works

Grading
Each subject is graded 7 (highest) to 1.
Diploma points
Six subjects give up to 42 points, and Theory of Knowledge and the Extended Essay add up to 3 more: 45 in total. The diploma needs at least 24, plus the other requirements.
SL and HL
Students take three or four subjects at HL (240 teaching hours) and the rest at SL (150 hours).
Exam sessions
May and November.

Internal assessment

Part of every subject grade comes from internal assessment: work done in school, marked by your teacher and moderated by the IB, such as a scientific investigation or a maths exploration. Your tutor can help you choose a focused question, plan your method and understand the criteria. The work itself must be your own.

Yes. Tell your tutor your level for each subject and it includes the HL-only content when you need it.

It can help you choose and narrow a research question, plan, and understand the assessment criteria. The IB requires the work to be your own, so follow your school’s rules on help.

The exam coach marks answers against what markschemes reward, says how many marks it would get, and shows what to add. Use it alongside your teacher’s feedback.
