What's the difference between OCR A and OCR B in sciences?
OCR A is the standard A Level specification - same content scope and difficulty as AQA / Edexcel, with OCR-specific question style. OCR B is an alternative specification with applied/contextual emphasis: Physics B (Advancing Physics, H557) focuses on real-world physics applications and synoptic context; Chemistry B (Salters, H433) uses industrial chemistry contexts to introduce topics; Biology B (Advancing Biology, H422) frames content through contemporary applications. Universities accept both equally. Most schools choose one or the other - students should confirm which spec their school registers them for.
