AQA A Level Mathematics (7357) is the largest UK A Level Maths board by student entries — taught at most state sixth forms, sixth-form colleges, and a significant share of independents across England. The 2017 linear reform means all three papers (Paper 1 Pure, Paper 2 Pure + Mechanics, Paper 3 Pure + Statistics) are sat at the end of Year 13 in a single May/June series. AQA's predictable past-paper patterns and the largest cohort make it the most coachable UK A Level Maths board. Assessment and Qualifications Alliance (AQA) · qualification code 7357 · Linear specification
AQA A Level Mathematics (7357) is a linear specification - there is no standalone AS qualification examined in modular form. Students study AS content (Pure + applied) in Year 12, but exams are sat only at the end of Year 13.
Three papers at the end of Year 13: Paper 1 (Pure, 100 marks, 2 hours), Paper 2 (Pure + Mechanics, 100 marks), Paper 3 (Pure + Statistics, 100 marks). Pure content makes up two-thirds of the qualification.
Single exam series in summer of Year 13 (typically May/June). No January re-sits - the linear reform means students sit all three papers in a single sitting. Re-sit option exists only as a full re-take the following year.
Grade A* typically requires around 80% overall (varies per series). AQA publishes grade boundaries on Results Day in August.
We tutor students from schools across UK preparing for AQA A Level Mathematics. If your school isn't listed, we likely still cover the syllabus - the qualification and exam board are what matter, not the school name.
One-to-one AQA A Level Mathematics tutors at Tutopiya typically range from £9 to £101 per hour, based on tutor seniority, exam-board specialism, and package size. A Level packages typically sit at the higher end given the depth required for top grades. The free trial is genuinely free - no card required.

Yes — Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, LSE, and every Russell Group university accept AQA A Level Maths as one of the three major UK boards. Oxbridge admissions tutors are highly familiar with AQA's mark schemes. STEM courses typically require A* / A grades alongside additional admission tests (STEP for Cambridge, MAT for Oxford).
Predominantly yes. AQA is a UK-domestic awarding body. A small number of British international schools (especially in Europe) offer AQA A Levels as an alternative to Cambridge IAL or Edexcel IAL — but the international AQA cohort is small compared to UK-domestic. Most international students take Cambridge IAL or Edexcel IAL.
Online AQA A Level Mathematics 7357 tutors at Tutopiya are competitively priced — the exact starting rate is shown in the pricing section above (live data, not an estimate). A clear quote follows the free trial — no card required.
UK students apply via UCAS in their final A Level year. Russell Group universities and Oxbridge look at predicted grades, personal statement, and (for some subjects) admissions tests. Strong A Level / IB Diploma grades plus subject-aligned admissions tests are the standard profile.
