Pearson Edexcel sets the 4PH1 Physics specification — examined at the end of Year 11 as a recognised pre-university qualification. Tutopiya tutors match exactly to the 4PH1 specification (not a generic "IGCSE Physics" curriculum), which means past-paper practice, mark-scheme phrasing, and tier-aligned content all reflect what your child will sit.
Cambridge 0625 Extended involves Paper 2 (multiple choice), Paper 4 (theory) and Paper 6 (alternative to practical). Edexcel 4PH1 has two written papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2.
Cambridge 0625 Extended A* typically around 80%. Edexcel 4PH1 grade 9 typically around 80–85%.
Specification specialists who actively teach Edexcel IGCSE 4PH1 with verified ratings from prior students. Book a free trial to be matched with the best fit for your child's target grade.

Edexcel IGCSE Physics (syllabus 4PH1) is the Pearson Edexcel physics qualification at the end of Year 11. Unlike Cambridge, there's no tier split — one specification for all candidates. Most students target A Level Physics, IB DP Physics, or engineering/medical pathways afterwards.
4PH1 has two written papers (Paper 1 + Paper 2). Practical-skills questions (apparatus, method, data analysis, graph interpretation) are integrated into both main papers — there's no separate practical paper like Cambridge's Paper 6 ATP.
Same level, different exam structure. 4PH1 has two written papers with practical questions integrated; 0625 uses Paper 2 (MCQ) + Paper 4 (theory) + Paper 6 (separate ATP). Mark-scheme phrasing differs slightly. Both are equally accepted by universities.
Typical thresholds: grade 9 (≈ A*) around 80–85%, grade 7 (≈ A) around 55–60%, grade 4 (standard pass) around 25%. Edexcel publishes exact boundaries after each session.
Pricing varies by country: typically AED 50–225/hr (UAE), S$15–90/hr (Singapore), RM 50–245/hr (Malaysia), ₹500–3,000/hr (India), Rs 1,500–6,000/hr (Pakistan).
Yes. Unlike Cambridge's separate Paper 6 ATP, 4PH1 weaves practical questions into the two main papers — testing experimental design, apparatus, controlled variables, and data analysis. Our tutors drill these specifically with annotated past papers.
Competitive engineering programmes (Pakistani NUST/GIKI/FAST, UK Russell Group, US top schools) look at IGCSE Physics grades. Grade 8/9 in 4PH1 alongside strong A Level predictions is the typical bar.
Some of our tutors teach both — particularly common for engineering-track students. Otherwise we coordinate two specialists with shared visibility into your child's progress.
Edexcel offers both January and June series. The January series is unique to Edexcel; most students sit the main June series. We time intensification 6 weeks before whichever series your child is sitting.
