The US awards in our catalog are graduate flagships: the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, run through Fulbright commissions and US embassies in your home country; Knight-Hennessy Scholars, Stanford's university-wide graduate programme; and specialist schemes like the Humphrey Fellowship and AAUW's fellowships for women. Each runs its own calendar, and Fulbright in particular starts in your home country roughly a year or more ahead.
For undergraduates, the picture is different and not captured by national schemes: US universities themselves are the funders, through merit awards and, at a small group of wealthy institutions, need-based aid open to international applicants. That search is university-by-university — which universities, and what your profile can realistically attract, is a conversation to have with your counsellor before you build a US shortlist.

Selected scholars get university placement support as part of the programme, with funding that covers tuition, living costs, airfare and health insurance for the award period.
Yes, but from the universities rather than national schemes: merit scholarships at many institutions, and need-based aid for international students at a small set of well-endowed universities. Both are competitive and university-specific. University merit awards more often cover a portion of tuition, which matters in the US where total costs run high: always model the remaining gap across all four years (or two, for a master's) before accepting an offer.
