Accounting & Finance degrees abroad

Numbers are the same in every country — which is why an accounting and finance degree earned abroad, with professional-body exemptions built in, travels so well.

Why study accounting & finance abroad

Accounting and finance degrees abroad carry a practical advantage many families miss: professional-body accreditation. UK programmes in particular are commonly mapped against ACCA, CIMA and ICAEW papers, so graduates leave with a stack of exam exemptions that shortens the road to chartered status by years — a credential system recognised across Sri Lanka, India, the Gulf and Singapore, where the same bodies dominate professional practice.

The catalog's programmes run from broad accounting-with-finance degrees to sharper corporate finance and financial analysis routes, taught in economies where the industries themselves sit — London's markets above all. Entry is friendly to strong commerce-stream students: Mathematics matters, prior accounting study helps but is rarely required, and one-year UK master's conversions let graduates from other disciplines pivot into finance without starting over.

Frequently asked questions

Studying accounting & finance abroad — what students ask us most.

Do accounting degrees abroad count toward ACCA or chartered status at home?

Very often, yes — and this should shape which programme you pick. Many UK accounting degrees carry substantial ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW exemptions (commonly up to nine ACCA papers), and those bodies operate across Sri Lanka, India, the UAE and Singapore, so the exemptions travel home with you. Check each programme's published exemption list before choosing; two similar-looking degrees can differ by several papers' worth of time and fees.

How much maths does an accounting and finance degree need?

Comfort rather than brilliance. Entry requirements typically want good Mathematics at IGCSE/O-Level or equivalent, and some competitive programmes ask for A-Level or Class XII maths marks; the degree itself uses applied statistics and financial mathematics rather than pure-maths abstraction. Students strong in commerce subjects with solid arithmetic instincts routinely thrive — data skills (Excel to Python) increasingly matter more than calculus.

Which career doors does studying finance abroad open that home doesn't?

Three concrete ones: post-study work rights in the study country (two-plus years in the UK and Australia, up to three in Canada) at graduate salaries in hard currency; recruiting access to global firms — the Big Four and international banks hire heavily from the universities they know; and the accreditation shortcut, since exemption-backed degrees reach chartered status faster. The credential then works in every market where those firms and bodies operate — which is effectively all of them.

Is the university placement service really free?

Yes, our service is 100% free. Counselling, university matching, application support and guidance right up to your offer cost you nothing. There are no consultation fees and no agent fees, because we are funded by our university partners. The only cost you take on is the university’s own tuition or semester fees, which you pay directly to the university after you accept your offer.

What exactly do you help with?

Everything from start to finish: understanding your options, shortlisting the right programme, preparing your application and personal statement, submitting to the university, and guiding you through the offer, enrolment and visa paperwork, all with a dedicated counsellor.

Which universities can you place me into?

We place students into a range of UK and international universities, and we shortlist the best-fit options for your grades, budget and goals rather than pushing a single school. On some pages we run dedicated free placement drives for a specific partner university, and we are always adding more partners. Tell us your goals and your counsellor will map out your options.
