Studying in Australia: your questions, answered

What visa do I need to study in Australia?

The main student route is the Student visa (subclass 500). Visa type: Student visa (subclass 500), with a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). Work during study: Up to 48 hours per fortnight while course is in session. Post-study work: Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485), typically 2–4 years. English requirement: IELTS / PTE / TOEFL as required by the university. Proof of funds: Evidence of funds for tuition, travel and living costs. Visa and immigration rules change regularly and depend on your nationality, course and circumstances, so your Tutopiya counsellor confirms the current requirements before you apply.

How much does it cost to study in Australia?

International tuition typically falls in the range of A$25,000–A$55,000 per year, and living costs vary by city. Tutopiya's counselling, application and enrolment support is free, so the only cost you take on is the university's own fees.

What does the placement service cost?

A flat SGD 50, billed as two monthly instalments of SGD 25. That covers everything: counselling, university matching, application support and guidance right up to your offer. There are no hidden extras, no agent fees and no commission on your tuition, because our counselling is funded by our university partners, the SGD 50 only covers administration. Separately, you pay the university’s own tuition or semester fees directly to the university after you accept your offer.

What exactly do you help with?

Everything from start to finish: understanding your options, shortlisting the right programme, preparing your application and personal statement, submitting to the university, and guiding you through the offer, enrolment and visa paperwork, all with a dedicated counsellor.

Which universities can you place me into?

We place students into a range of UK and international universities, and we shortlist the best-fit options for your grades, budget and goals rather than pushing a single school. On some pages we run dedicated SGD 50 placement drives for a specific partner university, and we are always adding more partners. Tell us your goals and your counsellor will map out your options.

Do I need my final results before I apply?

No. We work from predicted grades, so you can start the process well before results day and secure a conditional offer. Once your final grades are in, we help you confirm your place.

What qualifications do you accept?

We place students from IGCSE / O-Level, A-Levels (Cambridge and Edexcel), the IB Diploma, foundation and diploma programmes, and national curricula such as CBSE and ICSE. If your grades are not quite there for direct entry, we advise on an international foundation year.

How soon will someone contact me?

A Tutopiya counsellor calls you within 24 hours of you subscribing. Before that, our guided assistant is free to use and shows you where you stand — your readiness, the destinations that fit your budget, and what to prepare next — so you can judge the service before you pay for it.
