Free IB Notes for SL and HL (Diploma Programme)
Free IB Diploma notes for SL and HL are on the Tutopiya Learning Portal, organised by topic. This page links a topic-by-topic guide for Maths AI, Biology, Economics and Chemistry, plus the portal pages for other subjects. Each guide also explains how the subject is assessed and how to plan the internal assessment.
Key takeaways
- Match notes to your subject and level. HL covers extra content and, in some subjects, an extra paper.
- Biology, Chemistry and Physics were restructured for exams from May 2025, so check older notes against the current subject guide.
- The internal assessment counts towards every subject grade, so plan it alongside content revision.
- Notes alone rarely secure a 7. Combine them with active recall and timed practice.

How to revise IB subjects with free notes
- Start from the subject guide. It is the definitive list of what is assessed at your level.
- Learn, then recall. Read a topic, close the notes, and write down what you remember.
- Practise with markschemes. IB markschemes reward precise terms and structure.
- Protect IA, EE and TOK time. Put internal deadlines in your calendar before planning revision.
- Move to timed papers in the final term before the exams.
