IB Economics SL (Standard Level) is the IB Diploma Programme's social-science course on economic theory and policy. The 2022+ syllabus is organised around four units — Introduction to economics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and The global economy — taught across 150 teaching hours through a unifying lens of nine key concepts (scarcity, choice, efficiency, equity, economic well-being, sustainability, change, interdependence, intervention). Assessment is two externally examined papers plus a teacher-marked Internal Assessment (a portfolio of three commentaries on news articles).
