Where PDF biology notes usually come from
| Source | PDF how-to | Check before you rely on it |
|---|---|---|
| ZNotes / PMT | Browser print → Save as PDF | Board = Cambridge or Edexcel? |
| School VLE | Teacher upload | Matches your tier (Core/Extended) |
| Tutopiya portal | Save or export where available | 0610 dashboard |
| Textbook companion | Publisher site | May need login — not always free |
Do not trust random upload sites with no syllabus reference; outdated notes teach wrong depth.
How to organise PDFs by topic
- Create folders:
01-cells,02-molecules,03-human,04-plants,05-inheritance,06-ecology. - One master checklist page (official syllabus PDF from Cambridge).
- After each topic PDF, add a blank page titled “Recall test” — write definitions without looking.
- Store mark schemes beside the matching past paper PDF — biology past papers.
Print vs screen
| Method | Best for |
|---|---|
| Print A4 | Annotating diagrams, highlighting command words |
| Tablet PDF | Searching keywords; lighter bag |
| Both | Notes on screen, exam practice on paper (timed) |
Pair PDF notes with active work
- Week 1: Read PDF section + draw one diagram from memory.
- Week 2: Cover notes; list steps (e.g. photosynthesis) from memory — see photosynthesis notes guide.
- Week 3: Past paper questions on that topic only.
