What good Maths notes look like
- Worked examples beat summaries. Maths notes are only useful if each method has a fully worked example you can redo without looking.
- Keep a formula list separate from the methods. The formula list (MF19) is provided in the exam, so learn when to use each result, not just what it says.
- Organise by paper. Each paper is examined separately, so notes for P1, P3 and your applied papers should stay separate.
How to revise with free notes
- Start from the syllabus. Tick off each topic in the table as you finish its notes.
- Read, then close the notes. Write down everything you remember, then check what you missed.
- Take the topic quiz. A quick quiz after each topic shows whether the content has stuck.
- Move to past papers. Practise exam questions for that topic, then full timed papers closer to the exam.
- Mark with the mark scheme. Compare your wording with the mark scheme and add missing key terms to your notes.
Common mistakes
- Revising Paper 3 before Paper 1 methods are secure
- Reading worked solutions instead of attempting the question first
- Ignoring accuracy instructions (3 significant figures, exact form)
