placement for SGD 50, counselling to visa

Study in Canada from the UAE

Canada offers UAE-schooled students what the Gulf can't: co-op degrees that alternate study with paid work, post-study work rights of up to three years, and a credential that travels — all readable directly from your IB, British or Indian curriculum.

Why Gulf families look at Canada

Canada reads every curriculum the UAE teaches. IB diplomas, A-Levels and CBSE/ISC results all have published equivalencies at Canadian universities, so students from any of the Emirates' school systems apply without conversion anxiety — strong IB predictions and A-Level grades are particularly well rewarded in admissions and entrance-scholarship decisions, which at many universities are automatic with the application.

The deeper draw is what surrounds the degree. Co-op programmes alternate paid work terms with study — earning in dollars while building a North American CV — and the Post-Graduation Work Permit adds up to three years of open work after graduating. For UAE-raised students who hold expat passports, that runway matters: it's a chance to build residence and career options in a country where the path from graduate to permanent resident is explicit, something Gulf residence itself never offers.

The budget in dirhams

At August 2026 rates, tuition of C$20,000–C$40,000 converts to AED 52,000–105,000 a year, with living costs adding AED 39,000–58,000 — Toronto and Vancouver at the top of the range, excellent universities in Calgary, Waterloo and the Atlantic provinces below it. A four-year bachelor's therefore totals roughly AED 364,000–650,000; note that Canadian bachelor's degrees run four years against the UK's three, which narrows the apparent per-year advantage.

The study permit requires demonstrating around C$23,000 (about AED 60,000) in living funds beyond first-year tuition — straightforward for most UAE households, but the funds should sit visibly in accounts rather than arrive as last-minute transfers. Entrance scholarships shave real money for strong students: awards at Waterloo, Calgary and UBC in our catalog run C$5,000–C$20,000 and are often decided automatically on admission averages, with UAE curricula fully eligible.

Study-permit notes from the Emirates

Applications from the UAE follow the standard sequence — offer, Provincial Attestation Letter obtained by your university, then the study permit — with biometrics collected in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Files from the UAE are generally low-friction: processing is steady, and medical-examination requirements depend on your residence and travel history rather than hitting every applicant. The timing discipline is the same as everywhere in the PAL era: for September, hold your offer by spring and file the permit by early summer.

As with every corridor from the Emirates, nationality shapes the edges of the file: your passport determines which scholarships you compete for and can affect document requirements, while UAE residence determines where you apply and give biometrics. Families juggling both — an Indian passport, a Sharjah address, a Canadian offer — are exactly the cases our counsellors untangle daily, for a flat SGD 50.

Studying in Canada from the UAE — FAQs

How do UAE school results map to Canadian admission?

All three main UAE curricula convert cleanly. IB: competitive programmes typically want 30–38+ points. A-Levels: offers translate to grade combinations, with Mathematics often specified for STEM. CBSE/ISC: universities publish percentage requirements, usually 80%+ for competitive programmes and 90%+ at the top. English requirements are frequently waived for students from English-medium UAE schools, though some universities still ask for IELTS 6.5 — check each programme's rule.

What does Canada cost in dirhams, all-in?

At August 2026 rates (C$1 ≈ AED 2.62): tuition of AED 52,000–105,000 a year plus living costs of AED 39,000–58,000. A four-year bachelor's totals roughly AED 364,000–650,000; a two-year master's AED 182,000–326,000. The permit also requires showing about AED 60,000 in living funds beyond first-year tuition. Co-op programmes reduce the net cost from second year onward through paid work terms — a feature no UK or Gulf university offers at the same scale.

Does the PGWP-to-PR pathway apply to UAE expat students?

Yes — Canadian immigration assesses you on your Canadian study and work, not on where you grew up. A university degree of two-plus years earns a PGWP of up to three years, and that Canadian experience feeds Express Entry and provincial programmes on the same terms as anyone else's. For UAE-raised students whose residence rights in the Gulf end with their parents' employment, this explicit pathway is often the deciding argument for Canada over the UK's shorter Graduate Route.

When should UAE students apply for September entry?

Twelve months out. Canadian applications open in autumn and competitive programmes close between December and March — earlier than UAE students used to UCAS's January deadline sometimes expect. Offers arrive through spring; then the Provincial Attestation Letter and study permit consume the summer. IB and A-Level students apply on predicted grades in Year 13 exactly as they would for the UK, with offers confirmed when results land in July.

What does the placement service cost?

A flat SGD 50, billed as two monthly instalments of SGD 25. That covers everything: counselling, university matching, application support and guidance right up to your offer. There are no hidden extras, no agent fees and no commission on your tuition, because our counselling is funded by our university partners, the SGD 50 only covers administration. Separately, you pay the university’s own tuition or semester fees directly to the university after you accept your offer.

What exactly do you help with?

Everything from start to finish: understanding your options, shortlisting the right programme, preparing your application and personal statement, submitting to the university, and guiding you through the offer, enrolment and visa paperwork, all with a dedicated counsellor.
