About this scholarship
One of the most generous awards available to Indian students going abroad, the Inlaks scholarship has supported over 1,400 scholars since 1976 and funds full postgraduate study at top universities in the UK, Europe and the United States.
It is unusual in what it excludes as much as what it funds: engineering, computer science, medicine, MBA and management courses are outside its scope, which makes it far more winnable for humanities, social sciences, fine arts, law, architecture and pure science applicants than the raw numbers suggest.

Eligibility
- Indian passport holder currently residing in India
- A first-class undergraduate degree from a recognised Indian institution
- Within the Foundation's age limit, which is set by birth date and shifts each cycle
- Holding, or expecting, an offer from an eligible university for the coming academic year
- Not applying for engineering, computer science, medicine, MBA or management programmes

There are no consultation fees and no agent fees, because we are funded by our university partners. The only cost you take on is the university’s own tuition or semester fees, which you pay directly to the university after you accept your offer.
