Hanns Seidel Foundation Scholarships

Monthly stipend plus a study-cost allowance; doctoral awards are higher. The Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung runs a dedicated funding line for international students and doctoral candidates studying in Germany, alongside its programmes for German students and journalists.

Core requirements are: Admitted to or enrolled at a state or state-recognised German institution; Above-average academic performance; Evidence of voluntary work and civic engagement; Support for democracy, the rule of law and human rights; German language ability for the accompanying programme. Eligibility rules are set by the funder and can change each cycle, so confirm on the official site before applying.

Two rounds a year, typically 15 December–15 January and 15 June–15 July. Because award cycles shift year to year, always check the official programme website for the current date.

A flat SGD 50, billed as two monthly instalments of SGD 25. That covers everything: counselling, university matching, application support and guidance right up to your offer. There are no hidden extras, no agent fees and no commission on your tuition, because our counselling is funded by our university partners, the SGD 50 only covers administration. Separately, you pay the university’s own tuition or semester fees directly to the university after you accept your offer.
