Weekend revision should replay the week’s lessons — not the whole textbook
If you already used AI Lesson Analysis as same-night homework, the weekend job is smaller and smarter: revisit this week’s packs, not every chapter in the syllabus.
That is how analysis becomes a revision tool as well as homework. The library of packs is your week in tutoring form.
“Saturday used to be ‘revise Biology’. Now it is three packs and the challenges that repeated.” — Yusuf, IGCSE Biology
“We time-box 45 minutes. Overview + quiz on each pack from the week. Then we stop.” — Parent
A 45-minute weekend plan (two or three lessons)
For each pack from the week:
| Minutes | Do |
|---|---|
| 3 | Skim overview and study objectives |
| 8 | Re-run the quiz (closed book) |
| 4 | Flashcards on anything still wrong |
Then 10 minutes at the end: list key challenges that appeared more than once. That list is next week’s live-lesson agenda.
Do not reread every note. Do not start a new textbook chapter “just in case.” The packs are the week’s teaching.
If you skipped same-night homework
The weekend becomes expensive. You are reconstructing the lesson, not revising it. Do same-night first: homework after every live lesson and the same-night rule.
Weekend then stays a second pass, which is what spaced revision needs.
Yusuf’s story: three Biology lessons, one Saturday slot
Yusuf had tutoring twice a week plus a catch-up. He used to block Saturday afternoon and drift. After analysis packs, Saturday was 45 minutes: two quizzes, one repeated challenge (graph axes). He brought that challenge to Monday’s tutor. Predicted-grade language at school started matching how he sounded in lessons.
Exam season weekends
Keep the same structure. Add one timed past-paper section only on topics named in this week’s challenges. Analysis first, paper second. See also: exam and revision students.
