Give yourself time to take a break and reorganize your feelings and thoughts.  Always know that there is help available and you are never alone in this!

2 – Take time out to reorganize your studies

When you have taken time off to digest your emotions, come back and plan on what you are going to do next to tackle your studies. Find out what are subjects you are falling behind and what are the respective things you need to do to be back on track again. It can be overwhelming when you write out the lists of things you need to get done however, it helps to give you an overview of what you need to get done.

3 – Create a plan to get back on track

Now that you know what need to do, create a plan, a timeline, or a schedule. Give yourself time to catch up with your studies and remember to plan your day with breaks and rests. Even when you have a long list of to-do, you should still set aside time for breaks and rests.

4 – Time management is key

The plan will not work if you do not practice time management and self-discipline in the midst. It is important to keep in mind that you need to manage your time well to get all your existing work and catch-up work done concurrently. You might have to exert a stronger sense of self-discipline when you are falling behind with studying. You need to delegate time for it without hindering your existing schedule.

6 – Reach out for help

Should you feel like you are no longer capable of doing this alone, you can reach out to anybody you trust. Your family, friends, school counselors, and tutors will be there for you. You do not have to be afraid of asking for help. Sometimes, getting help could be beneficial and effective.

7 – Be consistent

When you have successfully caught up with your studies, now it’s time to be consistent with your studies. You can reduce procrastination and constantly check your to-do lists to make sure you are not falling behind with studying. This helps to track your progress and catches any signs of falling behind immediately. It is also advisable to plan ahead – if you know you will be having a busy week ahead with personal appointments, be sure to schedule more time for your studying this week.
