IB MYP Maths Extended Level is the advanced Mathematics strand for IB MYP Year 4-5 students. It covers the full Standard syllabus plus deeper algebra, trigonometry and pre-calculus — the recommended pathway for students continuing to IB DP Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (AA).

MYP is criterion-based: internally assessed against four criteria — A Knowing and understanding, B Investigating patterns, C Communicating, D Applying mathematics in real-life contexts (each marked out of 8). The optional Year 5 on-screen examination (eAssessment) — three tasks, externally marked by IB examiners — leads to the IB MYP Certificate. Extended and Standard Mathematics share this assessment model and differ in content depth.
