International School Fees Rwanda: Budget to Premium
Rwanda (Kigali and other towns) has international schools from budget to premium – British, IB and other curricula. This guide gives fee ranges and example schools so you can make an informed choice. Some schools quote in USD.
Quick overview of fee ranges (annual tuition, indicative)
- Budget: Roughly RWF 2,500,000–5,500,000 per year (primary). Newer or smaller schools, recognised curricula.
- Mid-tier: Roughly RWF 6,500,000–12,000,000 per year (primary). Established schools, good facilities.

Secondary and exam years are typically higher. Kigali has the widest choice.

What to watch beyond tuition
- Registration and enrolment fees (one-off; can be RWF 500,000–2,000,000+).
- Learning support and EAL – often extra; can add RWF 1,200,000–3,500,000+ per year.
- Board exam fees (IGCSE, IB, A level) – not in tuition; budget RWF 1,000,000–3,000,000+ per exam session.
- Currency: confirm RWF vs USD.

How to choose
- Set your budget band and curriculum; request full fee schedules (tuition + one-off and annual extras).
- Compare total cost over 3–5 years and fee progression by year group.
- Clarify what is included vs add-on (support, trips, exams) and payment currency.
