IGCSE Transfer of Entry Between Centres: When and How to Change Exam Centre
IGCSE Transfer of Entry Between Centres
Sometimes you need to change exam centre after registering—e.g. moving country or switching from one centre to another. This is called transfer of entry.
When Transfer Might Be Possible
- Before the board’s amendment/withdrawal deadline, some centres and boards allow transfer to another approved centre.
- After that deadline, it’s often not possible; you may need to withdraw (with possible refund rules) and re-enter at the new centre for a later session.
How It Works
- Cambridge / Edexcel: Rules and deadlines differ; your current centre and the new centre must both agree.
- The new centre usually requests the transfer from the board; you may need to pay a transfer fee or admin fee.
- Documents and fees already paid might be transferred or refunded according to board and centre policy.
What You Should Do
- Contact both your current centre and the centre you want to move to as soon as possible.
- Ask about deadlines for transfer and any fees.
- Get confirmation in writing (email) that the transfer has been requested and accepted.
