IGCSE Results Day: What to Expect and How to Get Your Grades
IGCSE Results Day: What to Expect
IGCSE results are released on fixed dates each session. Knowing when and how you get them helps you plan the next steps (retakes, cash-in, A-Level, etc.).
When Are Results Released?
- Cambridge May/June: Usually mid-August.
- Cambridge October/November: Usually mid-January.
- Edexcel January: Usually March.
- Edexcel May/June: Usually August.
- Edexcel October/November: Usually January.
Your centre or school will confirm the exact date and time for your session.
How Do You Get Your Results?
- School candidates: Usually collect from school (in person or online, depending on the school).
- Private candidates: Your exam centre (e.g. British Council) will tell you how they release results—e.g. login to a portal, email, or collect in person.
- You receive a statement of results (not yet the certificate—that comes after cashing in, if applicable).
What’s on the Statement?
- Subject, syllabus/option, grade (A*–G or 9–1 for some Edexcel), and sometimes component marks.
- Check that your name, candidate number, and subjects are correct.
Next Steps
- Happy with grades? Arrange cash-in with your centre so you get your certificate.
- Considering a retake? Note the next session’s registration deadline.
- Moving to A-Level or equivalent? Use your results for school or college applications.
