How to Plan IGCSE Revision for May June 2026: Step-by-Step Guide
A clear revision plan makes IGCSE May/June 2026 preparation more manageable. This guide shows how to design a realistic, effective schedule.
Step 1: Count Your Time
- Exams run 23 April – 9 June 2026
- Start planning from January 2026 (or earlier)
- Count weeks and days, minus school, commitments, and rest days
Step 2: List All Subjects and Papers
For each subject, note:
- Number of papers
- Exam dates (from your zone timetable)
- Topics you find easy vs hard
- Whether you need more content revision or exam practice
Step 3: Prioritise
- Weak subjects – More time, earlier start
- Heavy subjects (e.g. Sciences, Maths) – Regular slots
- Earlier exams – Prioritise in the first half of the period
- Later exams – Can be scheduled toward the end
Step 4: Create a Weekly Template
Example structure:
- Morning – 2–3 hours (e.g. harder subjects when you’re fresh)
- Afternoon – 2–3 hours (different subjects)
- Evening – Light review, flashcards, or past paper marking
- Breaks – 5–10 min every 25–30 min; longer breaks every 2 hours
Step 5: Use Spaced Repetition
- Revisit topics after 1 day, 3 days, 1 week
- Use flashcards or summary notes for quick review
- Past papers act as spaced practice if you redo them later
Step 6: Build In Flexibility
- Leave buffer time for difficult topics
- Plan rest days
- Adjust if you fall behind; don’t aim for a perfect plan
Step 7: Track Progress
- Tick off completed topics
- Note weak areas from past papers
- Update the plan every 1–2 weeks
Example Weekly Block (10 subjects)
| Mon | Tue | Wed | Thu | Fri | Sat | Sun |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maths + Chem | Bio + Eng | Physics + Hist | Maths + Geo | Econ + Lang | Past papers | Rest / light review |
Adjust slots and subjects to match your own timetable and strengths.
