Papers you need to choose

You choose one level:

• Core (grades C–G): Paper 1 (Reading and Writing), Paper 3 (Listening). Optional: Component 5 (Speaking).
• Extended (grades A*–D): Paper 2 (Reading and Writing), Paper 4 (Listening). Optional: Component 5 (Speaking).

You cannot mix Core and Extended. Most students aiming for A*–C take Extended. Speaking (Component 5) is optional and reported separately.
