Question 1

Are these past papers the official ones?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every past paper on Tutopiya is the actual exam paper from a previous year, with the official marking scheme. Practising with real papers is the only way to get used to the question style, command words and mark allocations examiners actually use.

Question 2

Do I need an account to download past papers?

Accepted Answer

Browsing and opening papers is free. A Tutopiya subscription unlocks the full past-paper library plus unlimited AI-marked quizzes and video lessons. 1-on-1 tutoring is booked separately, with a trial class available.

Question 3

When should I start doing past papers?

Accepted Answer

Start topic-by-topic as soon as you've covered a topic. Full timed papers make sense 6-8 weeks before exams. Doing papers too early, before you've covered the syllabus, is demoralising — and doesn't teach you anything useful.

Question 4

Should I mark my own paper or use the mark scheme?

Accepted Answer

Both. Mark your paper strictly using the official scheme — if it says "award mark for stating X", your answer has to actually state X. The gap between "I knew that" and "I wrote that clearly" is where students lose grades.

Question 5

How many past papers should I do?

Accepted Answer

Quality beats quantity. Two or three papers sat under full timed conditions, marked strictly, and reviewed topic-by-topic will teach you more than a dozen half-finished ones. Aim for one paper per subject per week in the run-up to exams.

Question 6

Can a tutor review my past paper?

Accepted Answer

Yes — book a 1-on-1 trial class and send your tutor the paper you sat. They'll walk you through the questions you dropped marks on and show you the structure examiners expect, which is faster than reverse-engineering it alone.

Question 7

Does Tutopiya have AI tools for past-paper practice?

Accepted Answer

Tutopiya's AI-marked quizzes use real exam-style questions and mark your answers instantly — including structured questions, not just MCQs. You get a report showing which sub-topics cost you marks, so your next revision session targets the right material.
