AQA GCSE Design and Technology (8552) combines core technical principles, specialist technical principles and designing and making principles, requiring students to apply maths and science in a design context. It is an untiered, linear qualification graded 9-1, assessed by one written exam worth 50% and a substantial non-exam assessment (NEA) design-and-make project worth 50%, based on contextual challenges released by AQA each June.
