Richard H. – Cambridge International AS & A Levels Law & Business Studies Tutor Online

I am a British Cambridge Senior Examiner and experienced A-Level examination specialist, EFL teacher, teacher-trainer and consultant, with over 25 years of teaching and academic-support experience. I specialise in Cambridge A-Level Law, Business, Global Perspectives, History, English Language and Literature in English, combining subject expertise, academic English and an examiner’s understanding of how examination questions are presented and responses assessed. My approach goes beyond subject knowledge. I help students understand what an examination question is really asking, identify its specific requirements and develop the skills and judgement needed to construct superior examination responses that better demonstrate what they know. For Cambridge students, my approach is evidence-based and reverse-engineered: working from the syllabus and Assessment Objectives through question requirements, mark schemes, level descriptors and examiner expectations. The aim is to help students understand not simply what they need to know, but what they need to do with that knowledge in the examination. I offer three levels of support, depending on the student’s individual needs: 1. RSH Exam-Response Skills Programme — 20–30 hours: Designed for students whose subject knowledge is already strong, but who want to develop the skills and judgement needed to construct superior examination responses that better demonstrate what they know. 2. RSH Subject & Exam Preparation Programme — 30–50 hours: Combining subject-specific tutoring, academic English and Cambridge examination preparation. 3. RSH Complete Programme — 50–80 hours: Integrating both programmes for students who need comprehensive subject preparation together with advanced examination-response skills. My experience working at King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as well as with students studying through English in China and Italy, enables me to work particularly effectively with international students who need both subject-specific support and the academic English skills required to demonstrate that knowledge on paper. My aim is not simply to teach students how to answer particular questions, but to develop the skills and judgement that enable them to independently construct superior, evidence-bearing responses across different examination tasks.
