You can start for free and try part of the course without paying. A subscription unlocks every video lesson, training note and quiz. If your school subscribes to Tutopiya, you already have full access: log in with your school account. There is nothing to install and you can work through the topics in any order, at your own pace.

Who is this training for: tutors or teachers?

It is written for private tutors and for school teachers: new tutors starting out, and experienced tutors and teachers who are new to the IGCSE, International A Level or IB curricula, new to teaching online, or new to supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Each topic has a short video lesson, training notes that turn the video into practical steps, a checklist for your next lesson, and a quick Test yourself quiz with scenario questions so you can check you can apply what you have learnt.

I am an experienced teacher. Will this help me tutor IGCSE, A Level or IB students?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The curriculum topics explain how each qualification is structured, how it is assessed and what examiners look for, so you can quickly adapt your teaching to a curriculum you have not taught before.

Will it help me teach students with ADHD, autism or dyslexia?

Accepted Answer

The inclusive education topics give practical, strengths-based strategies for one-to-one and online lessons: structuring sessions, adapting materials, managing sensory needs and working with a student's individualised education plan. They are not a clinical qualification, and tutors should never diagnose a student.

You can apply to teach with Tutopiya at any time. The training helps you prepare; applications are reviewed separately and completing it is not required to apply.
