The IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Sciences is a five-year integrated science course for students aged 11-16 (MYP Years 1-5). It can be taught as Integrated Sciences or as separate Biology, Chemistry and Physics strands, organised around six MYP global contexts and the inquiry cycle. Assessment is criterion-based across four MYP criteria: A — Knowing and understanding, B — Inquiring and designing, C — Processing and evaluating, and D — Reflecting on the impacts of science. MYP Year 5 ends with the optional MYP eAssessment (on-screen exam + ePortfolio) for the MYP Certificate.

MYP Sciences is criterion-based: internally assessed against four equally-weighted criteria — A Knowing and understanding, B Inquiring and designing, C Processing and evaluating, D Reflecting on the impacts of science (each marked out of 8). The optional Year 5 on-screen examination (eAssessment), externally marked by IB examiners, together with a school-moderated ePortfolio of investigations, leads to the IB MYP Certificate.
