IB MYP Mathematics Standard Level is the core Mathematics pathway for IB Middle Years Programme students in Years 4-5, covering Number, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, and Statistics and Probability. It builds problem-solving and inquiry skills, and is assessed against the four MYP Mathematics criteria. The Extended Level pathway adds deeper content for students continuing to IB DP Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches.

MYP is criterion-based: internally assessed against four criteria — A Knowing and understanding, B Investigating patterns, C Communicating, D Applying mathematics in real-life contexts (each marked out of 8). The optional Year 5 on-screen examination (eAssessment) — three tasks, externally marked by IB examiners — leads to the IB MYP Certificate. Standard and Extended Mathematics share this assessment model and differ in content depth.
