What is Pearson Edexcel International A Level Mathematics?
Pearson Edexcel International A Level Mathematics (XMA01 IAS / YMA01 IAL) is Pearson Edexcel's modular IAL maths qualification, available to international centres only with 100% external assessment and no coursework. The full IAL consists of six units — Pure Mathematics P1-P4 plus two applied units chosen from Mechanics (M1, M2) and Statistics (S1, S2) and Decision Mathematics (D1) — while the IAS comprises P1, P2 and one applied unit. Topics span algebra, functions, calculus, trigonometry, vectors, mechanics, statistics and decision maths. Calculators are allowed in every unit.

Every unit is a 75-mark, 1h 30 written exam (calculators allowed). IAS (XMA01) = 3 units: P1, P2 + one of M1/S1/D1, each ~33⅓%. Full IAL (YMA01) = 6 units: P1-P4 + two applied (M1&S1, M1&D1, M1&M2, S1&D1 or S1&S2), each ~16⅔%. IAS graded a-e; IAL graded A*-E. 100% external; no coursework.
