- Subscription pricing (monthly or annual).
- Provider manages updates, security, backup, infrastructure.
Contrast with installed software:
- Installed: downloaded to your device, runs locally, one-off purchase (often).
- Online: runs in browser or cloud, data stored remotely, subscription.
