Pearson Edexcel International GCSE History (4HI1) is a linear qualification assessed through two equally weighted written papers. Paper 1 covers depth studies, in which students study at least two periods in detail, while Paper 2 covers a historical investigation and a breadth study in change. The course develops skills in analysing source material, explaining causation and change, and constructing reasoned historical arguments. Both papers are taken at the end of the course of study.
