Pearson Edexcel International GCSE English Literature (4ET1) is a literature qualification in which learners study poetry, modern prose, modern drama and literary heritage texts. All learners complete Component 1 (Poetry and Modern Prose), then choose either Component 2, an examined open-book paper on Modern Drama and Literary Heritage Texts, or Component 3, a coursework alternative assessed through two internally set assignments. It is a linear qualification with all components taken at the end of the course.
