Pearson Edexcel GCSE (9-1) Biology (1BI0) is a single-award science GCSE offered at two tiers — Foundation (grades 1 to 5) and Higher (grades 4 to 9). It covers topics including key concepts in biology, cells and control, genetics, natural selection, health and disease, plant structures, animal coordination and control, exchange and transport, and ecosystems. The course includes eight mandatory core practicals, and assessment is by two externally examined papers with no coursework.
