Cambridge International AS & A Level Literature in English (9695) develops students' skills in reading, analysis and interpretation across prose, poetry and drama. At AS Level learners study three set texts and prepare for one unseen text; at A Level they study four further set texts, including Shakespeare. Learners practise close reading, express informed personal responses, and consider how writers use literary form, context and language to shape meaning. Assessment is by four externally examined written papers with no coursework.
