Portfolio evidence checklist (what to add)

If exams are cancelled and your school is using a portfolio / contingency process, aim to collect supervised, teacher-authenticated evidence. The exact requirements vary by subject and board, so always follow your school’s exam officer instructions.

For students

  • Mock papers (timed) + marked scripts and scores
  • Class tests / end-of-unit tests completed under supervision
  • Coursework / NEA submissions (where your subject has them)
  • Teacher-set assessed tasks (essays, problem sets, investigations) that are authenticated
  • Feedback sheets showing targets and improvements
  • Speaking/oral records for language subjects (if applicable)

For teachers

  • Mark schemes used + evidence of consistent marking
  • Authentication notes (conditions, time, supervision, candidate declaration)
  • Standardisation records (department moderation / cross-marking where used)
  • Assessment rationale (why tasks map to syllabus objectives)
  • Predicted grade notes supported by the evidence set

For schools / exams teams

  • Evidence index (CSV/PDF export from this tool)
  • Internal assessment calendar + deadlines
  • Candidate lists by qualification + subject code
  • Submission tracker (what’s complete vs missing)
  • Centre communications (board instructions + any special arrangements)

Tip: Prioritise evidence that is timed, supervised, and clearly linked to the syllabus. Include enough variety (mocks + unit tests + coursework/NEA where applicable) so your portfolio isn’t dependent on a single assessment type.

Free tools to help you build evidence

Use these alongside your portfolio: generate transcripts from mock-style practice, track progress over time, and keep your evidence linked to real exam performance.

FAQ

Is this an official Cambridge or Pearson tool?

No. This is a free organisation tool to help you keep your evidence tidy. Always follow your school’s instructions and the latest official exam-board guidance on what evidence is acceptable and how authentication works.

Who is this tool for?

It is built for students, teachers and schools — especially in the Middle East and other regions affected by exam cancellations or alternative assessment arrangements — to organise evidence clearly and consistently for IGCSE, AS and A Level courses.

Where is my data stored?

Your entries are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) on your device. Clearing site data or switching devices will remove the list unless you export a backup.

What should I prioritise adding?

Timed mocks and supervised class tests are usually strong evidence. Add coursework/NEA where applicable and record any teacher-authenticated tasks that your school sets specifically for the portfolio process.
